Hard to believe that there are so many people that say you need to leave Costa Rica for 72 hrs to renew a tourist visa. The law states that you need only exit the country and that the amount of time yoy have to stay out is up to the people in Migracion at the border. For thye last 4 yrs I have never been told by the Nicaraguan border people that I neede to stay out any longer than 4 hours.
This is the reply I got from CRLAW admin:
“You can be out hours or day – the law does provide any minimum time that you must be out of the country it just requires exiting the country. The immigration officers at the point of entry have absolute discretion on admission.

Andria’s email does not function at this time. But I thoroughly enjoyed your podcast regarding residency. A question I had; Can you start a Costa Rican corporation and fund it with $120,000 and show you will get paid $2500 monthly for 2 years for residency requirements?
